A former Acadiana priest has admitted to possession of child pornography, and been sentenced to prison.
Felix Davis Broussard pleaded guilty to possession of pornography involving juveniles last week and was sentenced to five years in prison.
Broussard allegedly had more than 500 pornographic photos of children ranging from infants to 12-year-olds on his personal computer. They were discovered by a computer tech who was working on a problem for the priest, and reported the images to authorities.
Broussard had served as a priest at St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for two years before his arrest. In that position, he oversaw the elementary school there.
Broussard had been a priest for 23 years overall.
