On Wednesday, the St. Martin Parish government host a flood presentation for homeowners in the parish who have property subject to repetitive flood damage.
During the meeting, parish representatives will explain the process for obtaining assistance from the 2018 Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program. More information on the program, provided by FEMA, can be found here.
Through the program, homeowners may obtain funding for various flood mitigation measures including home elevations.
The meeting starts at 6:30 pm at the St. Martin Parish Annex building on West Port Street.
Applications for the 2018 Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program will be accepted by FEMA from October 1, 2018, through January 31, 2019.
