The St. Landry Parish Council is holding a meeting to discuss animal control.

The meeting focused on issues concerning the St. Landry Parish Animal Control and Rescue. KATC will have more from the meeting tonight at 10.

Last week, the director Stacey Alleman, announced her resignation via the shelter’s Facebook but then changed her mind.

Her announced resignation came after possible charges being brought against Alleman concerning two horses that escaped their owner’s property.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the shelter failed to notify the owner in a manner prescribed by law.
