A gofundme page has now been set up for the three churches that burned in St. Landry Parish.
The fundraiser was created by the Ministry Association in the 7th District of St. Landry Parish.
Funds, once collected will be distributed evenly to all three churches for rebuilding purposes, according to officials.
“St. Mary Baptist Church in Port Barre, Greater Union Baptist Church, and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Opelousas will benefit from your kind donations. Funds will be used for the rebuilding of all three churches. Your support in this effort is greatly appreciated,” the page reads.
KATC’s Justice Henderson will have more tonight at 10:00 p.m.
St. Landry Crime Stoppers has increased its reward for information on the church fires in the parish. Investigators do consider these fires to be suspicious and are working to determine if and how they are connected.
