A Port Barre man and two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a home invasion and armed robbery earlier this month

The home invasion occurred on March 8, where the trio allegedly entered a home in the 200 block of Beauxis Drive in the early morning hours and held the residents at gunpoint. The three are accused of taking $100 cash, an XBox game center and several packs of cigarettes.

The victims told police the suspects seemed to be teenaged black males and they were wearing hoodies and covered their faces with shirts.

Two of the suspects allegedly carried pistols while the third suspect had a AK or AR style rifle.

The same day, Port Barre police and the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office received calls of several vehicle burglaries just outside of Port Barre, on John Addie Rd and on  La Hwy 103. An AR 15 rifle was stolen from a vehicle on John Addie Rd.

Port Barre police worked with the St. Landry Sheriff detectives to collect evidence connecting Joseph and the two juveniles in the burglaries and home invasion.

Joseph and the two juveniles were booked on the charges of Home Invasion and Armed Robbery. If convicted, Chief Boudreaux says they could face 30 to 99 years in prison.

Joseph and the 17 year old are being held in the St. Landry Parish jail. The 16-year-old is being held via court order in the Port Barre jail until a judicial hearing.

More charges are pending on all three suspects.
