Students at Opelousas Junior High are expressing themselves through poetry.
Tonight, the students read aloud poems they have written at Java Square Café.
The activity is a fairly new project at the school and allows students to take their creativity out of the classrooms.
Their teacher, Lana Green, says she encourages the students to be honest in their writing and to share it.
The event happens every third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.
