Port Barre Police collecting donations for family affected by house fire

The Port Barre Police Department is reaching out to the public for help in collecting items for a family affected by an overnight house fire.

The department says that the family lost everything in the fire which occurred Monday night. They are in need of several essential items.

Anyone interested in donating can do so by stopping by the Port Barre Police Department at 498 Saizan Ave. Someone will be available to take items 24 hours a day, according to the department.

A list of items include:

  • Monetary donations/ Gift Cards for personal items
  • Hygiene Products
  • *Only New or Clean/ Gently Used Clothing
  • Housewares, dishes pot, pans etc.
  • Towels, Blankets
  • Adult Male – shirt size medium/large
    pants- 36 waist
  • Adult Female- shirt large/XL
    Large/XL or 16-18
  • Boy- shirt and pants 6-7
  • All types of furniture needed
