The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office says they are searching for an escaped work-release inmate.
Sheriff’s Bobby J. Guidroz says that deputies are currently searching for Ronald Adam McGee.
Deputies say McGee returned to the St. Landry Parish Jail before 9:00 pm on Sunday and fled in an unknown direction. Deputies say they spotted McGee in a gully at the intersection of W Cherry at South Street but then lost sight of him.
McGee may be heading to his residence at 2021 Dudley Street in Eunice. Several agencies have been notified. The search is ongoing.
McGee is not considered armed and dangerous. He was incarcerated of theft and burglary charges.
