The Opelousas Police Department says that the escapee from Natchitoches Parish has been arrested at an Opelousas hotel.
Police say that 33-year-old Jale Christopher Hopwood was arrested at 7:45 Monday morning at a local hotel.
Hopwood was wanted by Natchitoches deputies after he walked off a job site in Natchitoches Parish on Saturday.
He is currently being held in St. Landry Parish Jail. His transfer back to Natchitoches Parish is pending.
Hopwood was serving time at the Natchitoches Detention Center for Simple Burglary and Simple Criminal Damage to Property, according to police. He was scheduled to be released in October 2019.
Police say more arrests are expected in the investigation.
