Two teenagers have been arrested, accused of setting a vacant house on fire in Eunice, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Two 15-year-old boys were arrested Monday, January 28, on one count each of simple arson and criminal trespass. Both were released into the custody of their guardians.

Officials say that just after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, the Eunice Fire Department responded to a house fire located in the 200 block of Rodney Street. The home had been vacant for a year following a previous fire.

Investigators determined the fire was purposefully set.

Witness told investigators that three juveniles were seen leaving the home just before the fire was seen. Two of the three juveniles were located and taken in for questioning by the Eunice Police Department.

Both teens admitted their involvement with the fire to investigators and were subsequently arrested. Additional arrests are possible.
