Today kicked off the first of many town halls focused on the St. Landry Parish School district.

Throughout October, Superintendent Patrick D. Jenkins will be conducting a listening tour of St. Landry Parish.

Jenkins says the events will be divided into to sessions, morning and evening. Jenkins will host morning “Coffee and Conversation” talks and evening “Town Hall” meetings.

Each chat will be held in a local restaurant, church, or school. The morning “Coffee and Conversation” will be held from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. The evening “Town Hall” will be from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

During these events, Jenkins says he wants to reflect and share thoughts on the following five questions about the school district:

· What are our strengths?
· What are our challenges?
· What should we start doing?
· What should we stop doing?
· What is possible?
