The St. Landry-Evangeline United Way is hosting the 2019 Boogie Ball Gala and Silent Auction. This year, the gala is celebrating ten years!
The event will be held at the Delta Grand, located at 120 S. Market St. in downtown Opelousas from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.
There will be dinner, live entertainment, a cash bar, and a silent auction. The festivities also include a costume contest and the crowning of the King and Queen of Scream, chosen by the public, among a coven of members of the court.
"Eight local individuals from the two-parish area will be honored for their caring spirits," stated Ginger LeCompte, Executive Director of St. Landry-Evangeline United Way, "with the crowning of two."
Proceeds from the event will assist United Way and local non-profits with program and projects that focus on education, health initiatives, and addressing financial stability for the working poor.
Chair of the event, June Inhern stated, "This fundraiser, while supporting the work of United Way, provides a fun Halloween-themed event for adults who like to dress up, enjoy good food, live entertainment and a silent auction. This has always been one of the most popular events of the season."
Tickets are $40.
