SLCC administrators have updated students regarding courses for the remainder of the spring semester.
Louisiana's Community and Technical Colleges will offer online-only instructional delivery to students for the rest of the semester. This will begin on Monday, March 23, and Monday, March 30, depending on spring break schedules. The system has also decided to postpone spring graduation ceremonies until further notice, but plan on honoring students' achievements at a later date.
"We understand that some students have limited access to technology, and we will do our best to continue working with students through alternate means to serve them on a case by case basis," reads a statement on SLCC's website.
Instructional labs will not be available for use by students until it is safe to do so.
Additionally, SLCC's Nursing Department has temporarily suspended accepting and evaluating applications to the nursing and registered nursing programs.
Applications will resume once SLCC's transition to online classes has resumed.
LCTCS will work with local and state officials to implement in-person healthcare and emergency personnel training in groups of 10 or less.
