With the continued wintry weather, schools were closed today.
We've reached out to see which schools will be closed on Thursday, February 18, as well.
So far, we've heard from schools in the following parishes:
St. Mary Parish WILL HAVE SCHOOL on Thursday, officials tell us.
All schools of the Diocese of Lafayette will be closed on Thursday.
Acadia Parish
Acadia Parish public schools will be closed on Thursday. Here's the statement: The Acadia Parish School System will remain closed on Thursday, February 18, 2021 due to continued challenges with winter weather conditions. We will continue to assess facilities, water systems across the parish, electrical power and road conditions during the day on Thursday. We'll announce a decision regarding operations for Friday on Thursday afternoon. Thank you for your continued cooperation as we work to make the best decisions for our students, families and staff.
Our Mother of Peace Elementary in Church Point announced Wednesday that they would remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 18 and Friday, Feb. 19.

Notre Dame High School will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
Calcasieu Parish
All Calcasieu Parish School Board schools and facilities will be closed Thursday, February 18. Due to busted pipes, little or no water pressure, and heating issues across the parish, we are unable to open our school buildings to students, faculty, and staff. We feel this is the best decision for the overall safety of everyone. We do plan to open all schools and facilities on Friday, February 19.
Evangeline Parish
Due to the situation caused by the winter weather this week, all public schools & district offices in Evangeline Parish School District will be closed tomorrow (2-18-2021). A decision about Friday will be announced tomorrow afternoon after conditions are reassessed. Students are asked to complete their virtual learning assignments that were issued last week.
Iberia Parish
All public schools and offices will be closed in Iberia Parish on Thursday, February 18, 2021 due to water pressure issues.
Jeff Davis Parish
Jeff Davis Parish public schools will be closed on Thursday.
Lafayette Parish
Lafayette Parish School System has announced that schools will be closed on Thursday, February 18 because of lingering water pressure issues. The Magnet Academies lottery set for tomorrow has been postponed. To read more, click here.
Lafayette Christian Academy will be closed Thursday and Friday because of water pressure and supply issues.
ALL FOUR locations of Sugar ‘n Spice Children’s Academy will be closed on Thursday February 18th.
Teurlings Catholic High School will be closed again Thursday (2/18) due to lingering icy conditions on campus and concerns about water/pipes in parts of campus. Classes are again canceled for Thurs 2/18
Willow Charter Academy will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 18.
Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy in Youngsville and Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy will both be closed tomorrow.

Due to continued inclement weather concerns and it’s residual effects, all St. Martin Parish schools and offices will be closed Thursday, February 18, 2021. Staff continues to assess facilities, monitor conditions, water pressures and communicate with our local Office of Emergency Preparedness. Vermilion Parish
Vermilion Parish public schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
