LAFAYETTE — People in Breaux Bridge and Ville Platte will have access to free COVID-19 testing and flu shot in the next two weeks.
One location in Breaux Bridge will serve the community on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Veteran's Building (300 Veterans Drive, Breaux Bridge, LA).
The following weekend, on Saturday, Jan. 23 there will be a site serving the same hours at Ville Platte Civic Center (704 North Soileau Road, Ville Platte, LA).
Those who choose to get tested must be wearing a mask at all times and remain in their vehicles. There should not be more than four people per vehicle, and those attending should being a valid ID and insurance card, if applicable.
While COVID-19 testing is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, flu vaccines will only be administered to patients 18 and older. Additionally, no one will be turned away based on their insurance status and there will not be out-of-pocket costs at the sites.
COVID-19 vaccines will not be administered at these sites at this time.
