Paul “Lil Buck” Sinegal, the blues and Zydeco musician, has died.
An internationally-respected guitar player who toured for more than 60 years, Sinegal was 75 years old.
Herman Fuselier, a longtime Acadiana music journalist, described Sinegal as “a musician’s musician.”
“People just thought the world of him,” Fuselier said. “I know every Jazz Fest he stayed in New Orleans for two weeks, because all the musicians wanted him to play with them. Everybody just loved Lil Buck.”
Fuselier said it is “such a shock to see him go.”
“Today I’m thinking of the hundreds, if not thousands, of recordings he’s been on,” Fuselier said. “He was in the background on most of them, but the headliners wanted him on there with them.”
