Ground was broken today on the new beach volleyball complex in Youngsville.

Mayor Ken Ritter says the complex will feature a total of five sand volleyball courts, one of which will be a championship court. A concessions building will also be part of the complex.

“This step solidifies our position as the premier sports complex in the region. It continues our tradition of offering excellent recreational opportunities while driving economic development,” Ritter said.

“Beach volleyball is the most rapidly growing sport in the country as well as the fastest growing NCAA Division 1 sport. All YSC sports programs have increased in popularity since our opening so we look forward to this project moving ahead,” stated Tim Robichaux, Youngsville Sports Complex Director.

With this addition, the Youngsville Sports Complex plans to host local, state, and national volleyball games, league play, and tournaments. This new state of the art, Beach Volleyball Complex with five competition courts, is projected to be completed in the fall of 2019.
