The old Winn-Dixie and Hope Alive Church at the corner of Pinhook and Verot School Road will get new life thanks to Drew Brees.

According to Developing Lafayette, Surge Adventure Park, which is co-owned by Brees, is scheduled to open at the location in October 2019.

The approximately 42,000 square foot indoor sports and family entertainment center will reportedly feature trampolines, a ninja course, possible bowling, laser tag, and zip lines, according to Developing Lafayette.

“We are very excited to be opening Surge Entertainment here in Lafayette,” said Brees. “Designing this project has been fun and we can’t wait to offer a new family entertainment experience to the area! This will be fun for all ages and every member of the family.”

The Center has nine locations around the country with five locations coming soon. Louisiana already has one location in Metairie. Including Lafayette, a location will also be opening in Baton Rouge.

Job fairs will be held for the center, according to Developing Lafayette. More information about those fairs will be released as the dates are set.
