Some moms spent Mother’s Day at a recital for Dance Warehouse in Lafayette.

The dance recital show-cased what the dancers have been working on all year.

But for the show to go on, many moms volunteered their day to help back stage.

The all-day affair takes a lot of hard work, but some of the dance moms say they wouldn’t have it any other way.

“It is my favorite day of the year. There’s chaos, yes, but I’ve got two kids. And I’ve been doing this with this studio for probably almost 20 years, between my niece and my two children. And it is my favorite way to spend the day, just to be able to watch my girls dance on stage and watch all of their hard work that they’ve done all year, finally come to fruition,” said Patrice LaBauve, who volunteered to be in charge of her daughter’s dance class.

It was her youngest daughter’s first dance recital. She made sure they line up and got dressed on time for their performance.

“It’s a great way to spend the day. You’re here with moms who you become family with over the years and we text each other every day. And on the morning of the recital, ‘Hey happy Mother’s Day. Okay what are we going to do?’ It’s become a good family to be around,” said LaBauve.
