LAFAYETTE, La. – Mayor-President Joel Robideaux reportedly sold a house he purchased from the wife of his embattled aide, Marcus Bruno.

According to The Advocate, it happened the same day Robideaux announced he would not seek re-election.

Robideaux and his former business partner Mark Harris bought the house at the beginning of Robideaux’s term. That purchase originally was reported by The Current; that magazine reports that Bruno’s brother-in-law, a convicted felon, was living in the home. To read that original reporting, click here.

The Advocate is reporting that the house was sold at a loss. The house was purchased for $98,756 in 2015 days after Robideaux was elected. The day Robideaux he announced he wasn’t running, it was sold for $95,000.
