LARC’s Acadian Village and Louisiana Butterfly Project are unveiling their Monarch Butterfly Habitat located on the grounds of Acadian Village.
Organizers are in the first phase of the project, and thus far, the habitat includes pathways, blooming pollinator plants and milkweed, and a butterfly hoop house.
The public was invited to attend the habitat’s grand opening today where they toured the habitat full of Monarch eggs, caterpillars and butterflies. They also learned from the experts what the Monarch butterflies do for the environment.
Monarch butterflies migrate to the South from Mexico.
