Cajun Cannabis is moving forward to open Saturday in Lafayette.

This morning, the store received its certificate of occupancy from Lafayette Consolidated Government.

The store will sell CBD oils, lotions and bath products; as well as coffee, CBD sodas and hemp clothing. Cajun Cannabis is hoping to become the state’s largest retailer of its kind.

According to the ATC, the sale of CBD products is illegal, regardless of THC content.

Travis DeYoung, owner of Cajun Cannabis said this is a monumental moment moment for the Hub City.

“I hit challenges along the way as far as finding a landlord who would lease to me, vendors who would ship to me, to state officials and all the way down to the city officials,” said DeYoung. “We’ve had to cross a lot of hurdles, but we had a lot of support that’s pushed us and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without them.
