Festival Internation is just a week away and they are still in need of hundreds of volunteers. Volunteers are an essential part of how the festival is able to remain free.
Brad Cradeur, who is the Vice President of marketing says volunteers make the festival so successful.
“As of right now we are about 460 volunteers shy, but I do want to say thank you or everyone who has signed up already,” Cradeur said.
Every year, it takes about 2,600 volunteer shifts to put on the five-day festival.
With thousands of people from across the world visiting, volunteers help make sure the festival runs smoothly.
“Some of the areas we are in real need right now is Scene Se June, the children’s area, Saturday and Sunday. I know from a festival goer, Saturday nights are rocking and ready to go, but Saturday is one of the biggest areas we need volunteers as well as recycling,” Cradeur said.
It’s also a rewarding experience. When you volunteer, you’ll get a festival t-shirt and an invite to a private volunteer party with Geno Delafose.
“When you volunteer you only end up doing it for a particular part of the festival and it’s an amazing experience you probably didn’t think you’d have. You even end up meeting new friends and people you didn’t know before,” Volunteer Chavi Stark said.
Festival International begins Wednesday, April 24 and ends on Sunday, April 28, 2019.
