Vermilionville hosted its annual Earth Day Celebration today.
The free, family-oriented event is held to celebrate and commemorate people and groups actively engaged in promoting wise stewardship practices, and it is sponsored by COX.
Among the activities were environmentally friendly kids’ crafts & activities, a yoga class, a clothing swap station, Clothes & Jewelry Fix-It Café, canoeing, tree give-a-ways, discussions, food demonstrations and music by Nouveau String Band and Horace Trahan & the Ossun Express.
Attendees also could bring an old T-shirt, and get help turning it into a reusable shopping bag. There also were river boat tours and lunch available as usual in the restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman.
