Both men wounded in last night’s shooting at a Carencro apartment complex are dead, police say.
Adam R. Williamson, 20, of Krotz Springs, and Dustin A. Wiltz, 20, of Scott, are both dead, police say.
Arrested is Jeremy Edwards, 20, of Church Point.
He’s been booked with two Counts of First-Degree Murder, 1 Count of Armed Robbery, one count theft of a motor vehicle, one count Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon, one count Aggravated Flight from an officer and one count of Driving Under Suspension.
Carencro Police were called to the French Colony Apartment complex at about 8:30 p.m. after residents reported a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims that had been shot inside of an apartment. Other responding Carencro Police Officers observed a vehicle fleeing from the scene. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, and a pursuit ensued. The driver of that vehicle lost control and struck a tree on Acorn Drive. The suspect was taken into custody at that time.
During the investigation, detectives learned the driver of the vehicle that fled from the scene was identified as Edwards. Edwards was visiting with friends at an apartment within the French colony complex, when for unknown reasons, Edwards entered the apartment where several people were and opened fire. After the shooting, Edwards robbed another person at the apartment complex for his vehicle.
This morning, no bond had yet been set for Edwards’ release.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be added.
