Nurses from across the state were in Acadiana today to learn how they can help prepare new mothers for breastfeeding.
The Gift collaborative meeting took place at Our Lady of Lourdes.
Lactation consultants and nurses shared ideas and experiences to find out what works, what doesn’t, and how they can help new moms adjust to breastfeeding.
“What we are doing is trying to get our new moms off to the best start that they can, support them with their breastfeeding experience, initially to get them started and long term,” said Our Lady of Lourdes lactation consultant Kim Spinner.
