LAFAYETTE, La. – American Legion Post 69 had a great turnout, serving hundreds of barbecue plate lunches on Saturday for their Rebuild Post 69 efforts.

The Boy Scouts helped serve pork steak and sausage poboy lunches to help raise money to rebuild the post.

There was enough extra food from the fundraiser to feed the homeless downtown and donate two large boxes of pork steaks to St. Joseph’s Diner.

They hope to have the new home rebuilt in time for Post 69’s 100th birthday in 2020.

Happening this week, the Legion’s Greatest Generation Diners Club will be held Thursday, March 21 at 4 pm, at Picadilly on Coolidge Blvd. for the WWII and Korean War Veterans.
