Local coach stepping up to help victims of Lafayette apartment fire

A local coach in Acadiana is setting up a donation drop off for the victims of an apartment fire in Lafayette.

Katherine Morales is Head coach of the Acadiana Zydeco women’s semi-professional football team. This Saturday she and others will be helping collect donations for the victims of the fire at the Maison Lafitte Apartments.

Donations can be dropped off at Clark Field on Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Those needing further information or other locations to drop off items are asked to contact Morales  via facebook.

The donations are being organized by Morales and her organizations Southern Sports Entertainment, Acadiana Zydeco women’s football team, Bayou Hurricanes semi-pro team, and CMP prep school.  The collection is also a part of a new community project to feed and clothe the homeless. Morales on Facebook says that the project is set to start soon.

Morales is asking for the following donations (please wash before donating):

  • Men’s clothing and shoes – All sizes
  • Women’s clothing and shoes – All sizes
  • Children’s clothing and shoes – All sizes
  • Infant clothing- All Sizes
  • toiletries
