LAFAYETTE, La. – The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) narcotics unit seized more than a quarter of a million dollars in cash during a drug bust on February 27, 2019, according to an LPSO spokesperson.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit seized illegal narcotics, U.S. currency and assets worth $658,942.
Three people were arrested as a result of the investigation.
- Kaman Lege, 22, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute (PWITD) Marijuana, PWITD THC oil, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses worth more than $10,000, two counts of illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), prohibited acts involving testosterone, prohibited acts involving winstrol, PWITD cocaine, two counts of prohibited acts involving drug paraphernalia, and two counts of sale, distribution, or possession of a prescription drug without a prescription.
- Kiebriana Avie, 21, was charged with two counts of PWITD marijuana, PWITD THC oil, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, prohibited acts involving drug paraphernalia, and illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a CDS.
- Samuel Cockerham, 21, was charged with PWITD marijuana and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies.
The following evidence was recovered as a result of the investigation:
1. 1533 THC Vape Cartridges, DEA street value of $153,000
2.10,172 grams/ 22.3 pounds of Marijuana, DEA street value of $203,440
3. 146 units of Testosterone, DEA street value of $1,460
4. 2.2 grams of Cocaine, DEA street value of $440
5. 41 grams of THC wax street value of $4,100
6. $266,709.85 in U.S. currency
7. Several firearms, including handguns, shotguns and a rifle
8. Three vehicles, total value of $60,000
