The Sankofa African American Museum on Wheels paid a visit to UL today.

The exhibit was in the Evangeline Art Gallery of the Student Union.

This travelling exhibit explores the history of the African American experience from 1860 onward, without shying away from controversies and the realities of harsh experiences. It is billed as a unique and engaging learning experience, one that transcends cultures and ethnicities.

Admission to the exhibit was free for all UL students, staff and faculty.

“I brought this museum to the campus because I’d love everyone to know what the African, the black, the colored –  whatever term you want to use  – the contributions we have made to this society,” said Angela Jennings, owner of the museum.
