The Middlebrook Family, Lafayette Police Department, and the Lafayette Parish School System held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday to unveil the new sign and the official renaming of Plantation Elementary.
The School will now be known as Cpl. Michael Middlebrook Elementary.
Lafayette Police Chief Toby Aguillard and Principal of Middlebrook Elementary, Anne Hermann spoke during the ceremony. Also unveiled was a photograph of Cpl. Middlebrook that will hang in the school.
Cpl. Middlebrook’s wife, Adrienne Middlebrook, attended the ceremony with her daughters and officially cut the ribbon.
