Tonight, the Lafayette City-Parish Council voted to increase the budgeted salary for the LUS director from $153,000 to as high as $250,000.
The council will set the salary once a new director is hired. Mayor-President Joel Robideaux is searching for the next LUS director.
The council still hasn’t set a salary for the LUS Fiber director.
The council also gave introductory approval to an ordinance appropriating $3,000,000 for parish courthouse renovations and repairs. That money would come from an increase in reimbursement revenues from the state. The council also gave introductory approval to an ordinance appropriating $20,000 to repair the roof at the city court building.
