The Mystic Krewe of Apollo de Lafayette is Cruisin’ the High Seas tonight at their annual ball.
Apollo is one of the smaller krewes in Lafayette with around 100 members. Each year, despite that number, the krewe puts on a show that sells out every year.
The krewe’s president says the event the biggest show in Lafayette during the Mardi Gras season and shows the end of a year’s worth of planning and hard work.
Apollo also boasts some of the most extravagant and largest costumes of any krewe.

Apollo says that the purpose of the organization is to foster fraternal and social unity in the community along with encouraging and supporting the gay community.
