Scholarship recipients were recognized at an awards banquet in Lafayette on Saturday.
The Kiwanis of Southwest-Lafayette held their annual Southwest Lafayette Scholarship Awards Banquet which is in its 34th year.
Attendees heard from Dr. Emery Minnard who spoke on Academic Excellence. That topic was the theme of Saturday’s banquet, the requirements, the struggles and the rewards of pursuing academic excellence.
The scholarship awards banquet is a part of the Kiwanis mission to give back to the community and improving lives.
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give,” President Clyde Gabriel said.
