It’s February 14, and your significant other is hoping to do something special for Valentine’s Day, but it’s Thursday, and you don’t feel like leaving the house.
Waitr has you covered! You can get that romantic meal delivered to your home and avoid date-night traffic.
“Preparations started a long time ago. Right, when the year started after Christmas, we started hiring and onboarding drivers, in preparation for this day. It’s a lot that goes on, it’s not just one-day preparation,” Zurben Barras said.
However, the staff is reminding the public they may have to be patient. Holidays, like Valentine’s Day, may increase delivery times.
“We want to tell our drivers to be safe, our restaurant partners good luck and our customers Happy Valentines Day,” Barras said.
Barras said he plans to have about 400 drivers out in Acadiana today, and they will have sales numbers on Friday.
If you’re waiting to celebrate until tomorrow, Waitr is hosting a block party tomorrow from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. in the 200 block of Jefferson Street in celebration of Waitr’s new digs located downtown.
Geno Delafose will be performing, and there will be a gift card raffle. A ribbon-cutting will be held at 4 p.m.
