Lafayette Parish public school students will not have school next Wednesday, February 13.
Teacher in-service will be held that day, so students get a day off.
This is a change; the original school calendar had students in attendance for half of that day, with teacher in-services in the afternoon.
However, based on Board action at the regular November Board meeting, the half day in-service was changed to a whole day of teacher in-service. Working parents were having difficulty in obtaining day care for the partial day of student attendance.
Regular bus transportation for students attending parochial schools and the Early College Academy will continue.
