A 27-year-old man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from storage units.
On January 31, 2019, Lafayette Police Criminal Investigations Division arrested a suspect responsible for burglarizing multiple storage units in the 200 block of Feu Follet Rd. as well as multiple bicycle thefts around Lafayette, according to Corporal Bridgette P. Dugas, spokeswoman for the Lafayette Police Department.
George Louis Bourque, 27, was arrested for 10 counts of simple burglary, three counts of attempted simple burglary, two counts of possession of stolen property and theft. The burglaries of several storage units were reported beginning in December 2018.
The estimated value of the items stolen is more than $350,000.
Detectives have located and recovered stolen property from those burglaries. Additional charges are pending against Bourque.
The investigation for the multiple burglaries and thefts remain on-going.
