Fiday night, Science on the Bayou hosted Shutdown Solidarity Happy Hour at the Urban Naturalist.
The Lady Dems of Acadiana provided food for the event.
The idea of the event was to show federal workers support from the community after having to work without pay during the 35-day government shutdown.
In the nation’s capitol, President Trump signed a bill that would reopen the government for three weeks while negotiations for the border wall to continue.
