Kids in Lafayette are being rewarded for bringing up their grades.

The Kiwanis Club held their BUG program at Broadmoor Elementary School today.

The idea of the program is to show kids if they can bring up their grade by one letter grade, they can do it again.

To be rewarded, a student doesn’t necessarily have to make straight As. A student could bring up a D to a C and so forth.

Kiwanis members hope kids will be inspired to continue to excel after seeing that they can do the in-class work and the homework.

The program is also fun. Miss Louisiana Holli Conway performed along with others.

“Eveything about Kiwanis is children; we’re abut kids. Everything is about getting one child in one community bettered in someway shape or form,” said program chairman Vance Lanier.
