The Carencro Police Department has released the name of the person killed Sunday night on I-49 South.
Police say 41-year-old Joshua Murphy of Breaux Bridge was killed after a crash on I-49 South just south of Veterans Drive.
According to police, Murphy was entering onto I-49 South from the Veterans Drive entrance ramp on his 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he collided with a vehicle in the right southbound lane.
Murphy was ejected from his motorcycle as a result of the crash and sustained fatal injuries.
The other driver was not injured in the crash.
The department says that impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
