This Thursday, December 20, First United Methodist Church and Downtown Lafayette Unlimited will host a new holiday event called “Downtown Candlelight Christmas.” Parc Sans Souci, located at 201 E Vermilion Street, will be adorned with Christmas decorations fit for a night full of Christmas readings and traditional carols.

This event is free and open to the public and will take place from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Downtown Candlelight Christmas is a traditional holiday celebration that includes the narrated story of a Savior born to a virgin in Bethlehem interspersed with Christmas carols. The public is encouraged to participate in the singing of Christmas carols led by local musicians The Rayo Brothers, Sean Bruce, Ray Boudreaux, and Julie Williams. Twinkling lights, holiday wreaths, and the city Christmas tree will make for a special night of festive cheer in Downtown Lafayette.
