Bruno was a native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He retired from Acadiana Mental Health and KATC with over thirty years of employment. A devout Catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church where he was an usher.

Bruno was known at KATC for his love of Blues music and for speaking French with his co-worker, Amos Senegal, another longtime KATC employee. They were always ready to speak French with co-workers, and encouraged the younger people to use the language.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Rosemary Alexander Bruno of Lafayette; five sons, Lester Bruno, Jr. of Lafayette, Christopher Bruno of Lafayette, Eric Neal Bruno of Atlanta, GA, Richard Bruno of California and Marcus Bruno of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Lester Bruno, III, Syndi Gail Malveaux, Christy Rae Bruno, Lindsey Faye Bruno, Jordan Francis, Dejuan Bruno, Tyler Bruno and Megan Bruno; five great grandchildren, Carli Malveaux, Seleste Malveaux, Cara Malveaux, Ciara Bruno and Charley Andrus; three brothers, Joseph “Shirley” Bruno and Rogers Bruno both of Houston, TX and Peter Bruno of Lafayette; and one sister, Lois Carmouche of Virginia.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Anthony Catholic Church (600 Madeline Ave. Lafayette, LA 70509) from 8:00 a.m. Friday until service time on Friday.
