Councilman announces he has prostate cancer

Lafayette City-Parish Councilman and radio personality Kenneth Boudreaux announced Sunday that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

“I am ready for this battle. Cancer has definitely picked the wrong one. Don’t feel sorry for me feel sorry for it,” Boudreaux writes on social media.

Last week, Boudreaux had posted a request for prayers, as he was hospitalized in Lafayette and unable to be with his daughter as she gave birth to his first grandchild in Baton Rouge.

This morning, he posted pictures of his new grandbaby, Micah Scott Gonsoulin. In a separate post, he shared his own news.
