Today the annual Open Studio Tour event wrapped up.

Every year, Acadiana artists open their workplaces to anyone who wants to see how their art is made. Artists are on hand to talk about their work and their process, and also to answer questions from curious visitors.

“We’d love for the community to know that art is alive and well in Lafayette in this region and that we’re delighted to show our art,” said Jean Kreamer, one of the artists. “And we’re also delighted to have the public visit us we enjoy the reactions of the public, but we enjoy very much showing our art too.

The Louisiana Crafts Guild works with the Lafayette Art Association, the Lafayette Conventions and Visitors Bureau, and the Lafayette Economic Development Authority to coordinate the event every year. This year, more than 100 artists and craftspeople opened up their work at more than 30 locations.
