In a letter to LPUA and City-Parish council members as well as Mayor-President Joel Robideaux, NextGen stated they “are respectfully withdrawing our proposal.”

The company says this comes after the many “discussions that have been held since submitting our proposal.”

This comes just hours before the LPUA is set to consider a resolution to oppose any sale, lease or third party management of LUS without a request for proposal process, authored by Councilman Kenneth Boudreaux.

Councilman William Theriot also has a resolution on the agenda that outright opposes any sale, lease or management of LUS. He tells KATC this resolution will still be considered and voted on tonight because of the other companies interested in the utilities company.

At the last council meeting, members unanimously approved a resolution that would request Robideaux’s stance on the issue.
