The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Department says they have seized over $1 million in meth after a drug bust early Friday morning.

Three people were arrested by Lafayette SWAT and Narcotics Deputies on Friday, October 26 after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 300 block of Rue Septembre and a business in the 900 block of Westgate Boulevard in Scott. Deputies say that a search of both premises uncovered over 11.9 pounds of Methamphetamine. The sheriff’s office values the drugs at $1,084,740.

Deputies say it is the largest Methamphetamine bust Lafayette Parish’s history.

Lt.  John Mowell said “Any time we can get involved in getting drugs off the street, it’s a good process. It’s a good result for all our investigators and the community whenever you keep that amount of narcotics off the street.”

Lt. Mowell also says the Sheriff’s Department does not know where the drugs came from, but they are sure there were intended for distribution locally.
