The Diocese of Lafayette is addressing the shooting at a Pittsburg synagogue Saturday morning that left 11 people dead and six injured.

“Bishop Douglas Deshotel and the entire Catholic Diocese of Lafayette extend their thoughts and prayers to the victims of today’s shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA. Let us pray that our country experiences a conversion and that we promote the sanctity of all human life.”

The man who opened fire on the crowd is in custody, facing 29 federal counts, including weapons offenses and hate crimes, according to the Associated Press.
