He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a charge of second-degree murder. Prier’s bond is set at $500,000.

Prier was previously arrested in December 2017 in connection with the shooting death of Comeaux High student Da’Ni’Cea Maze. Another teenager, 17-year-old Gabriel Breaux, was also arrested on first-degree murder charges in that case.

The Sheriff’s Office did not say in what incident Prier’s second-degree murder charge is connected.
