A series of Town Hall meetings continue to be held across Lafayette Parish, in an effort to educate parish residents on an upcoming vote for a tax to fund fire departments.
A meeting held Wednesday night at the Scott Events Center focused on the issues they face daily. A discussion of the proposed tax to fund fire protection in the unincorporated areas was also held. Officials say the tax would be used to fund equipment and personnel for each department to help them cover fires outside city limits.
Along with the meeting tonight in Scott, three other meetings are scheduled to be held in the coming days and weeks. Those can be found below.
