The Magnet Academies Office of the Lafayette Parish School System will hold its first Magnet Academies Showcase on Saturday, October 27th.
The event will be held from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Heyman Performing Arts and Convention Center located at 1373 South College Road.
Officials say the purpose of this event is to showcase all of the programs offered through the Magnet Academies. These programs include Health and Biomedical, Arts, Business, World Languages, Information Technology/ Informatics, Law, Broadcasting and Journalism, STEM, and the Navy and Air Force JROTC. Programs are available to any student living in Lafayette Parish.
Online applications for the academies will open at 10:00 am on October 27. The deadline to apply is December 31 at 11:30 pm.
